It's the first time since 1971 that all of Canada is experiencing a white Christmas. But really, who cares? The Sedin Sisters are hosting our Brutish and Mighty Oil tonight. Here's Gregor's report on the lines for tonight. -- bingofuel
Line-ups... Hemsky – Horcoff – Penner Nilsson/Moreau – Cogliano – Pouliot Reddox – Gagner – Cole Strudwick – Brodziak – Stortini
Moreau skated at the morning skate and will be a game time decision. If he can't go then Nilsson will draw in. If he does, Nilsson will be eating popcorn in the pressbox.
damn it Wellwood, you greasy, fat bastard.
gawd damnit! FRACK
Well you knew that the Oilers were going to be going a man down early in the third.
we need to settle things down here.
Nice pressure by this third line!
You know if wellwppd can be in the NHL so can Rob Schremp.
NIce save ROLI!
I feel like that Billy Idol song tonight.
"I'm just posting by myself , posting by myself oh oh oh oh"
You know what would be great a shot.
what pisses me off is that the Oilers dominate when they press and then we get into the thrid and MacT puts them into a defensive trap. Nothing about this team make up would suggest a trap system would be the best use of our team speed.
Wow Gagner Cole and Nilsson should never be on the ice VS the Sedins
this Cogs, pou, dox line is nice to watch.
Cogs! no!
I HATE THAT FRICKEN BELL COMMERCIAL WITH THE FRICKEN GROOVE IS THE HEART SONG....IT WAS TERRIBLE IN 1992 AND ITS TERRIBLE NOW!..
It's okay...it's okay...i'm good now
STONE HANDS!!!!!!
Lets not have Horcoff shooting at the empty net.
my heart just stopped......this has been a terrible third period for the Oil.
Smid's played great.
wow, we hung on to win that one. surprise
WOOOOOO GOILERS!
Oh Ya!!!
Starting to win the tight ones. Progress indeed.
I'm going to say it right now and let the flaming begin. Sign Cole if it's at all possible. When he gets untracked, he'll be a monster.
One more thing. I noticed guys are starting to block shots all of a sudden. That's got to be by design. Keep away from the injuries before Christmas and now the gloves come off (?).
@ David S: I sure hope that's the deal.
I'm amazed at Cole's luck right now. He must explode for points some time!
Good Game Oil.
I think everyone except Gags and Nilsson looked pretty good out there tonight. I even noticed Reddox once >gasp< which is something all by itself.
Nah... Horcoff still sucked.
Horcoff: he scored a goal so I will let him off the hook tonight... it wasn't a gimme empty netter either, but a really good shot.
Whats with Staios just trying to ring the puck up and out on the pk? Twice he had no pressure on him and just took the swing at the puck and both times it never cleared! If he actually looked first he would have seen he had time and space and would have cleared the zone.. just lazy
Staios.
My gawd...Staios.
Like I've said before. Good for 1 GA a game.
ok, seriously, how did Rollie not get the first star?! The fix is in!
@ freeze: they look at the stats and see 2 GA and 21 saves and say "neh".
Haha...I just popped on here to do some catching up...and I couldn't help but notice fiveandagame spending almost an hour talking to himself...Great job dude...way to keep the JL meeting going!
Haha! I was at the game and wearing my Oilers home jersey with pride. First period was indeed a snoozer - the Oil were playing at the level of their opponents, and the Canucks don't play the most exciting offensive game. I was super happy with Penner's performance! I'm convinced that he heard me cheering! That last goal from Shelly also SHUT UP a LOT of the Canucks fans that were giving us a hard time - but it still didn't stop the geezer sitting in front of us from telling us that we were cheering too loud. Uhhh... last time I checked, it was a hockey game and not quiet time at the senior center. Come to a game at Rexall!!
