it appears that gregor is happy where he is - on all a sports station where he is respected, quoted and should be considered for the esks if the rights go to astral - otherwise any information that redick is posting seems to be in harming the goodwill of JAG - and hurtful

When I watched the game last night I thought about the possibility of four Can teams making the playoffs and which announcer will call which games.

Hughson and Simpson will take whomever the CBC believes is in for the longest haul; either Mtl or Cgy.

Bob Cole will take the loser of the battle.

The Canucks will get Mark Lee

The Oilers will get Dean Brown.

I've said this for a long time and maybe there's something contractual that blocks it but what stops the CBC from a short-term hiring of a really good TV crew from one of the Can teams that Don't make the playoffs?

Now, perhaps say Dean Brown has it in his contract that he can't be passed over by out-of-network talent and that would make a lot of sense. maybe gregor or brownlee can confirm something like this?

CBC ****** up large when they let Cuthbert walk. Lee's their 11:30 guy and he's awful. He's got a strong voice and he knows when to raise it but his phraseology is awful, he doesn't understand line-matching and he doesn't know the league well enough.

CBC doesn't have exclusive rights to Canadian teams anymore. It is like a draft now. CBC gets the first two picks, and obviously they will take two series involving Canadian teams. Then TSN gets the 3rd choice and if their are three teams in the West, and MON in the East that will guarantee that TSN gets a Canadian team.

CBC gets the 4th pick and I'm pretty sure TSN gets 5th and I think the 8th choice. I am 100% certain that TSN gets the 3rd pick, and going on memory I think they get 5th and 8th.

Based on population you would think CBC would take Van and Mon first, unless there is a CGY/EDM match up. If the three Western teams aren't playing one another you hope TSN picks the Oiler series 3rd, because Cuthbert is way better than Mark Lee.

Being named in a lawsuit is the first step in negotation. Many participants do not want this to go to court - namely Bettman and NHLPA - interesting where Crawford sits here - sho covers his legal - as a contractor, he is on his own.... but being the canary... the canucks would be wise to cover his costs and protect him and the code. On the nhl front - I really enjoy Sam Rozen who canadians rately here... who is on westwood one radio.

I must say I have had the pleasure of listening to Bob Stauffer when he was with 1260. I enjoyed his show and all the different guests he would have. I still don't understand why people refer to him as Fred. Any help out there? Then with the move Jason took over. While I'm sure many people enjoy his style I for one do not. I find that he repeats himself too much and he talks way more football than I enjoy. There is something about his voice I also don't enjoy. I have since moved over to 630CHED during the drive home show and I quite enjoy it. I truly believe 1260 lost a good man in Bob and Jason's style doesn't work.

If Hall of Famer Rod is retiring I have heard that Clifford Boostrom may be available. If you have not heard him, he is great. Very similar to the Buffalo announcer. Give him a listen.

Hall is retiring but works for Ched who has the rights, it is not a given that Ched will have the rights you low life - if the Esks cross the street - Gregor has markers in terms of show content and commitment - and is working the Rush for bigger and better things to come. As per HDNET - MFC announcer - Mark Cuban is impressed - I believe in Cuban and Gregor while you are at home living with your stepmom and engaged to your cousin.

When was the last BBM book you read - oh you don't know what this - the real story is why no one has taken up the challenge of 9 - 12 full time - Corey is post game and the rest is dead air with ESPN - this shows to me how hard it is to put together a show for three hours with no live guests due to the eastern time zone.

Both Stauffer and Gregor complimented each other while working at the team - if the rights for Oilers go to Astral it will be even better for hockey and the listener. Stauffer was taken to task while away in California for no football - all hockey - it was a day that a few listeners went to town. Gregor supports football and is putting in time with the RUSH and HDNET.

Hall has his over 60 demo for three hours with Ched blaring at most senior homes and Gord Whitehead in the background.

RONALD - Why do you think they are paying Morley Scott to stay home and have contracted Stauffer to do color - and play by play when Rod is ill or attending family hockey functions ?

Katz is tied to a local talent in his head - hoping that will waive his wand and allow the TEAM personnel to think with their own mind while holding the property and have a great game day presentation - to which Ched is unable to provide due to their political syndicated shows via CORUS.

The team is considering a jump to the fox sports network for more hockey access as ESPN have jumped their rates via the purchase from the rightholders FAN590 - a late night show needs commitment from the program director, on air talent (corey is not committed), sponsors via the show host - where the host buys the time from THE TEAM / ASTRAL such as Stauffer in the past and Just A Game and Pipeline Show. These details are not a concern right now making the Team very LITE in the PM.

This is an opportunity for OILER NATION to have it's own radio show - without the cuss words - really - if Jonathon, Bingofuel, and Wanye want to take this to the next level - start off EXACTLY the Stauffer did with TOTAL HOCKEY..... otherwise we can listen to this ESPN crap for eternity..... maybe someone other than Gregor from the Team raads this column - blog.
