GDB 62: Oilers gone Wild

sick_oilersBrownlee's sick as a dog, I'm sick as a dog, and it seems like the Oil are sick as dogs -- they're certainly playing that way. Meanwhile, Wanye's internet access has vanished and it took me way too long to update the scores and standings on the site. Things havent't been kosher, my darling Nationeers.

Wouldn't it be something else if the Oilers actually went wild against Minnesota? Yes. How likely is it? I don't know. I'm still holding out hope that we're all stuck in some sort of cruel nightmare, and when we wake up there'll be a parade on Jasper Ave involving a certain cup with a certain name be hoisted by the players from a certain hockey team. You know, ours.

So here's what I want to see tonight: I want to see our boys actually bodycheck the opposition. I want to see decent play resulting in many shots on net, which will logically result in several goals more than the Wild. I want to see a WIN. Is that too much to ask? I don't think so. Willis has suggested that, at least on paper, the Oilers aren't a god-awful team. So let's actually win this one, yeah?

Pass the Neo-Citron.

Couple things while I bounce in and out-

Did Moreau just lose his right eye? Yikes that looked terrible. As much as I hate him this season lets hope he's alright.

The only reason the Oilers are winning this game is cause of Rolli. There is no way we should be winning this after the craptacular third period.

Reddox??? WTF???? How? Why? SEND HIM TO THE ALLSTAR GAME!!!

God I hope we can hold on to the win.

Oh and also Marc Crawford called them the Minnesota Oils at one point. And I think CBC missed about 20 faceoffs tonight by showing a replay for way too long.

Jeez. Moreau's injury doesn't sound good. Doctors concerned his eyeball will hit. Will be following this story into tomorrow...

Hey Guys... just putting two and two together. Morris sat out tonight and has waived hid NTC to go to a western conference team. Nilsson was a healthy scratch tonight for the Oilers. Hmmmmm..... A trade by the morning?

Am I the only one who heard Crawford mention the Oilers "getting in front of blocked shots,"? Um, how do you get in front of a blocked shot? Getting in front of a shot to block it or blocking a shot but, getting in front of a blocked shot!?! Seriously, Crawford and Lee are absolutely terrible.

But Alex Hempsky scored tonight and Dwayne Rolofson was awesome. Right Mark? And Marc? The M&M show! Losers...

Moreau's injury sure doesn't sound good. It's too bad - you hate to see that happen to a guy, and hopefully it isn't as serious as it looked.

TSN reporting that there is damage to Moreau's eye, and is of "serious concern."

Not good news in the least, it looked Berard-esque.

Looks like Souray is our leader now - let us pray and bring out of the best for our fallen captain - the pain that Moreau is going through now is hell - I know all of the NHL family is behind him - needing to say more is not required - please everyone say a prayer and hope that this is not as bad as it appears.... _______________________________________________________

Please - just think of Ethan today for a little while I know many of you will - in church, in the car... what can Oiler Nation do to show support other than blog... bingo? wayne? johnathon?

W.T. knows of a good security system upgrade company for Army and Navy if JoyB, MacT and Louie get together after the game. Also, know a good glass repair company.

W.T. suggests the CBC crew is out to lunch. Crawford suggesting Horcoff has been playing great just shows you what he knows. CBC should hire Bryan Hall, he is the most knowledgeable sportscaster in Edmonton that speaks his mind. Fred Stauffer, W.T. would of said you were the man before you became Oiler property and don't call it like you use to. W.T, suggests maybe Fred and Bryan could get together for some Tony Roma ribs and Fred could get some tips from Bryan

It sounds like Moreau might have escaped serious injury. Still no official word on the extent of the injury, but from what I've been told he is doing ok. Oiler don't practice today, so there won't be an official release. But prognosis today is that it isn't the worst. I.E. loss of eyesight. They don't know the exact damage yet, but are more positive today about his long term outlook.

Weird - I'm about to defend Marc Crawford.

Crawford said that Horcoff has been the best Oiler over the past ten games - during which time Horcoff's had 3 goals, 6 assists, gone +2 and has shouldered the bulk of the faceoffs and defensive work.

It hasn't been a great season for Horcoff offensively, but he really has looked very decent of late (last night excepted) - which is all Crawford said.

Decision for the Oiler tarnished brass next season MacT or Quinn Horcoff or Spezza Roloson or Backstrom Gilbert or J-Bo Gregor or Tencer Cole or Gaborik Fred or Joe Rockhead Pisani or Niel

Lots of questions but no answers

Seen this in background - Ched to possibly lose the Oil and head over to the team - astral presently holds rights to Habs - major changes to morning show, with Bob upgraded to play by play - Ched actually loses money on the property "oil" and relies on this to boost its ratings and advertising share throughout the day...

The worst Bob can say now is that they have to play better - that is a pharm approved statement, but why get hung up on one individual - when he left the team.. people in the office were thinking the sky was falling and now the drive show has grown from this.... how about Gregor providing play by play for the esks - since he is the only host providing a dedicated football show...... I listen to the audio vault on ched just for amusement to see how Dan T defends the oil in the........ what would the PD's stance be - conform like Ched or allow hosts to keep independent thought....

CBC was using the third string lineup - mistakes of the past such as no penalty clock and last nights errors wrong names are just typical - not going to change - not enough population in Alberta to justify a first string team - unless the leafs are playing at 6PM instead of 8PM to satisfy the tv audience back in ONT

Gregor has been trying to get to Ched for a long time, Fred did not recomend him for his job. Also Fred has said that MacT has to be blamed for the Oilers so he does not defend MacT like he used to but he does walk with a big stick since he "Hid in the bushes" to talk to Katz, and Katz does like him.

Reddick you lying piece of garbage. I have never once talked to anyone at CHED. I have ZERO interest to go there. You are such a f-ing loser to just make up crap on the Internet. I've said it many times you are a fraud, and a liar. Your life must be pretty disappointing to have to make up crap about others. I have never spoke to anyone at CHED about going there, nor do I have any interest. Just letting everyone know again, what a FRAUD, LIAR and overall LOSER you are.
