ROBIN'S LUCKY 13
Wanye
October 07 2010 09:13AM

In what is sure to evoke a season of name calling, twitter flame wars and sleepless nights, Robin Brownlee decided to pit the wits of the entire OilersNation against one another. The list of dos, don'ts and rules can be viewed here. The teams can be viewed here. May the Gods have mercy on your soul if you have already submitted your projections.
We set our alarm clock for the first time in a couple of months to get up early to post this. Now remember, no one has seen each others picks. If you intend on submitting your own team, do it before you read our particular picks. If anyone else predicts the triumphant return of Jason Soules we are going to call shennanigans.
He is our dark horse.
THE WINNERS

Self titled, this team of inside information getting, free pressbox popcorn eating know-it-all types are laying their good names on the line with this set of picks. Press Integrity be damned, they are in the game.

THE JORDAN EBERLES

Despite the formidable handicaps of not actually knowing anything or anyone who can provide a juicy tip for this excercise, the Jordan Eberles have put together what seems to be a fine roster of picks. We have also heard that baggedmilk has impeccable hygiene and Wanye is assembling a pretty decent sword collection of late.

Quick! What's 4+4? How many assists did Jason Strudwick have in 1998? What is a short handed goal?
If you even thought of answering, this team is for you. Willis has radioed HQ to let us know his picks will be along later today but Lowetide is prompt as always. And probably bang on correct too!

NO WILLIS? You guys are kidding, right. Did I read we have no Willis? Our best numbers guy? That will not do.
Because all this calculating and extrapolating can take time, I'm giving Willis a one-time "WILLIS ONLY" exemption that's good until the puck drops between the Oilers and Flames tonight. Wanye, tweet him, phone him, do whatever it takes. Even though Willis clearly has an added advantage because he can now study your numbers and ride Lowetide's coattails, he MUST be in.
There is no ducking the LUCKY 13 showdown between Gregor and I (TEAM WINNER) and TEAM NERD. Stand and deliver.
Its quite possible Willis is working out in the field. I know that his is incommunicado from time to time up there in Ft. St John.
I'll tweet his facebook and have it rerouted to his mobile phone. I haven't seen the Willis Only exemption used since 1998. This is a big day indeed.
@Wanye
Ouch hes in Ft. St John? I just hope hes alright then. That was the only town I felt less safe in than Ft Mac standing next to crackheads. The kids at the movie theater in the mall looked very stabby.
Too late for Top 13? :( I go to bed at 8 am, booo
I knew you would have a change of heart Robin!
If you didn't care about us fans, you wouldn't be writing here on ON.
Thanx again!
Thanks for letting those other guys in late. It really woulda sucked if those of us who were fortunate enuf to have workable timetables were the only ones in.
Besides, gives some of us a better chance to have someone enter a worse set of predictions than our own.
Well poop on a stick...
I just got home from work and I missed the whole thing :(
I work in construction yah no, not sitting in front of a computer all day...

Sorry for the delay, everyone. An ugly timesuck combination of work/personal stuff slowed me down considerably.
Additional note:
I do solemnly swear that I looked at nobody else's predictions prior to making my own. After I got Wanye's email, I fired up NHL.com and behindthenet.ca, and put together my picks, and only then came to this site.
it's FIRST!!! not fist. Fist is when you get to something before anyone else does.
@Jonathan Willis
Glad you're in, but I've got to say I'm extremely disappointed that Tyler Dellow didn't see fit to enter.
He's busy hacking on me over at his site, and that's fine because I do the same, but not putting his money where his mouth is by gracing us with his best guess? Bad form.
Props to you RB. It's put up or shutup time, now that he has had a chance to analyze all our picks it should really be easy for him no?
