Yup (well second/third season....whichever it was)
Re-hasing old news here, but he created "the mess" himself.
We criticize Minnesota hockey, but if it feels like this... Ill take it it for a year or two while our offensive players mature (I know, we're still getting 10 more shots a game against than Minny hockey should)
I find it funny that people are trying to over analyze the first three games back from 6 weeks off.
We've got a 300 game body of work from the guy at the NHL level, it's clear he's better (and more productive) then what he's shown this past week.
Still on the kool-aid from last night, so all I have to say is:
WINNING!!
The secrecy / arrogance of the oil management is very similar to the way Katz seems to run things..... The play of the oilers looks very much like the Swiss national teams from past world competitions, that's Ralph hand print. Renny's contribution that i see is the diamond PK and the "I know things you don't" media interviews
Drafted as a centre.
300 games in the league and still cant win a face-off.
300 games and is figthing for playing time as 3rd line RW.
Only thing softer on the ice than a Smyth slapshot is Gagner along the boards.
Gagner is a lost cause. Out of the 12 forwards on the ice, Gagner is the most useless, ineffective one.
Smyth came and went and Gagner is still in the same boat as he was that year, "developing". The guy is pathletic.
Where's Romulus at? He knows what this is called.
Douch
Hahahahah it's funny cause it's true!!!!!!

Arrrg! Still refreshing the game preview page on Oilers.com, but no updates on tonight's lineup! Fire Tambi!!!!
Oh well, it doesn't look like the game will be broadcast in the Calgary area anyway.
Anyways, it's clear he's at least a .625PPG guy... not the 0PPG guy that he's shown so far, and that people are clinging too.
Ha... i see "Gagner's Law" (analog to Godwin's Law")has struck again:
"As an Oiler Nation discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Gagner and/or Omark approaches 1"
busy today. probably miss the tilt tonight. hope we win.
You all keep the oil fire for me.
@OB1 Team Yakopov - F.S.T.N.F
So, who is the 0PPG guy?
It looks to be the same guy to me, same stature, same uniform and jersey. If it looks like Gagner, plays like Gagner, well then it must be.................wait! Is it Omark?
The only clinging going on, is, you and Arch to those .625 numbers.
@Douche Nietzsche
Yup. It's totally unreasonable of us to think the 300 games of established play outweigh the 3 games directly after an early return from his ankle injury.
~So outlandish~
@Archaeologuy
i am assuming this stance you have taken is more blogging purposes and creating discussion. if not i don't get it. this is becoming non-sensical.
@mayorpoop
Which one?*
*The problem with being this opinionated is that you can never tell which one somebody doesnt agree with unless they flatout tell you.
Sam looks like he's two weeks away from going to Oklahoma for a one week conditioning stint.
@Archaeologuy
that response shouldn't have been for you specifically, my bad i should have worded it differently.
imo,
Gagner just got back he needs some time (the right amount i couldn't say) maybe 10-20 games to really judge his body of work and he needs to play with offensive players. he would be a better 2nd line center than Horcoff, no doubt.
Omark must be in the doghouse not for only his play, but maybe his mouth, who knows? he too needs the opportunity to play with offensive players and a decent number of games to judge him. he is of NO value sitting up in the pressbox and brings you nothing if the hate won't go away even if he plays in the AHL. so let him prove us right...or wrong.
Paragraph 4 is Bang On
Ahhh that's more like it...a bit of faith never hurt anyone.
Don't worry so much about not being able to get the most favorable matches. Not all the teams require you get the exact right matches on the ice. I think Colorado might be one of those teams you don't need to worry as much about. It would be nice to have Hemsky back though to increase our chances of scoring.
Sam looked much better last night than the previous 2 games...he was right in the blue paint last night battling...
@Arch is that the same NHL stat guy that has Clutterbuck getting over 300 hits last season ? ok maybe 1 give away I'd like to see how many take aways the other team had against Sam.
@OilFan
Ok, so the guy employed by the NHL doesnt have an eye for the game because he didnt record those give aways, the coach doesnt have an eye for the game because he keeps playing him, Jason Gregor apparently doesnt have an eye for the game because he said as much as I did last night, and I dont have an eye for the game either.
Did you ever think, "maybe it's me who's wrong", not everyone else?
@Archaeologuy
Why do you think Jason has any more knowledge then you or I ? Keeps playing him, to try to con a other team into trading for him. I was saying that the NHL doesn't make stats player vs player as far as give away take away ? Gagner is fighting it hard ( maybe his ankle) and is on the 3rd line WING, far cry from 1st or 2nd line center. With the new system unless Gagner can out of left field win draws, play the boards I don't see his spot with the Oil, now that THE NUGE is with the team all season? Ganger and Omark don't fit......... GO OIL GO Watching and or playing hockey everyone has there own style of play or player they like.
