And with a 3-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche the Oilers clinch first place in the Western Conference*
What do you suppose we are supposed to make of that now huh?
Is it too soon for this video? Answer: No.
*After 10 games

Fist in the west? This is just crazy. Crazy and I love it!
RNH no points vs the Avs, no wonder why Tambo didn"t tell RHN he was staying
Found a way more hilarious video. An 11 minute 2 legit to quit video suits the occasion
They have also already beat the two top teams in the east. In my books we own the league!
Ghost ride theeeeee whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip.
First place bisshhhhh!!!!!
squuueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Edit. Damn double posting.
Gagner looked good and contributed offensively? Strange, I was told he was washed up.
Omark isnt playing any time soon.
Great Scott! Who do you start in goal now?*
*nice problems to have
Secondary scoring!
Good thing, that was a rough night for the kid line.
nice work, finding that video. It's the ultimate in Cheese!
1,000,000 internets to you, Sir Wanye, for that epic video.
The last year the oilers won the cup was the year that hammer video was released. Oh the memories...I remember that video being much cooler when I was a young lad
*Sniff*

Edit...
"Eat it Vancouver!"
Edit two.
Nothing to sneeze at.
Winning is so foreign to me, it's time to celebrate! If you don't watch this entire video you love the Canucks and wish the Oilers nothing but harm.

Damn you!! That s#!t is addictive!
lol I know, I've had it on at various times during the day.
@Puritania
Props to the guy that actually made ten hours of that video... that requires some serious dedication eh.
I agree Gagner had a couple decent plays but dont get too carried away. He made a simple pass that Barker finished. Omark has made 20 passes like that this year the only difference was someone burying it. Gagner still looks slow out there and lost quite often.
1ST PLACE BRAH!
I'm gonna enjoy this while it lasts...
That was freakin' AWESOME!
THe pk was good once again. WTtruck was Sutton thinking??????
@Kodiak
Whatever helps you sleep at night
Smyth, the quiet hero..
I think that Omark is ahead of Gagner as far as skill and player development is concerned..
That video is hilarious!
@ Kodiak. The difference being that Gagner froze the defender and made a nice soft pass putting his teamate in a high potential scoring area where Omark would have done two or three spin-o-ramas, finally delivering a 100 mile an hour pass on his teamates backhand in a poor scoring position.
What do you mean by "don't get too carried away"? Gagner is the more proven player over Omark, and is a couple of years younger. Gagner will play at least the 2nd toughs this year and will succeed once he gets his legs going again. I hate the need for Oiler fans to make "Goats" out of good players like Gagner and Gilbert.
Knock it off.
Wow . . .that just happened!! Goaltending again was solid even with Ave's crashing the net constantly.
Dman - Sutton/Smid/Gilbert continue to amaze although I hope Brendan realizes Sutton is 6'7" and not suspension for the hit on the Rookie. Peckman the only weak link with another give away early on but Dubie saving him this time.
and finally . . .
The Respond Goal - how long has it been since we had that type of goal 18 seconds later! Smyth (3A) and Horcs were the differnce here to take all the pressure off in period 3.
this is a fun ride to be on . . .
omark is older and has not done nearly anything that gagner has done. stop being swayed by all his flash it doesnt equal a good hockey player. did you see how aweful he was on the pp when he was playing. made me want to puke
Oh i love that MAGIC F(ist)ing Mullet!!!!
bookmarked
Outrage! What does MC Hammer have to do with the Oilers? Answer: EVERYTHING! Cuz, if that Oil Drop is next on your schedule, NHL evil-doers...
...Here come da Hammer!

Think I wanna dance now...
No doubt, his pain is my pleasure. :)
Might become my pre-game pump up tune!
So, based upon precedent, is Sutton looking at a suspension after tonight?
I don’t mean to be argumentative, it’s pretty hypocritical for people to say stop hating Gagner, but at the same time people basically trash Omark?
Another thing how much more proven is Gagner this year to Omark? 1 point.
This is where you throw stats down proving Gagner over the last so and so years has produced so and so points! Is younger and will develop into a super hero.
As for trending a player, if that was the case Horcoff would not have struggled so bad that year and would have had a 70 point season. Fact is nobody knows season to season how a player will play. Case in point Lupal and Kessel.
For the record, as a rabid Oilers fan! I like Gagner a lot! I also want Omark to succeed for the team! The more offense the Oilers can create the better it is for the team! I say both go out a score 60 points each!
As a season ticket holder I’ve watched all the games and can honestly say the difference between the two players is negligible at best.
Until tonight, secondary scoring was our team's biggest concern. Doesn't it make sense for the Omark and Gagner crowds to unite, and demand we try to get them both going? How much longer are we going to pretend that eight minutes of Ben Eager is helping this team win?
If may take a second to hate Eager, Petrell and Jones duplicate his hitting and Peckham and Sutton duplicate his fighting, and all four of those guys do other things. Why do we need him? More Gagner! More Omark!
Rather than double post I'd like to remind everyone not to vote.
"I love the smell of first place in the morning."
Maybe we could get Octane to do this number between periods.
Yeah, baby. First Place. Reading the standings this morning started me off with a s--t eating grin. Go Boys ! u r indeed 2 legit to quit !!
Or 5 minutes of editing time followed by about 20 minutes of passive uploading time.
@Overpaid Wild
Who's swayed by flash?
With Omark, it's obvious he has elite skill with the puck, so it would be stupid to not want that kind of player to succeed with your team.
Maybe the benching will put his head on straight, which is the only issue with this kid. If he wasn't such a hard worker, the haters would have a better case.
Personally, I don't see what Lander brings to the table to warrant a starting spot over Gagner and Omark, other than being a center.
Gagner gets points at a rate about 50% better then Omark has despite being younger. He also has scored goals at about 3x the rate Omark has. He has done this over the past couple of years while playing tougher minutes.
I would like to see Omark have success here as well, but you simply lose credibility when you suggest that the difference between Gagner and Omark is negligible.
Are you simply looking at 4 games by a guy who came back from injury and assessing that as his value to the team?
@book¡e
Omark has played 56 games in the NHL, and only the 28 game stint in OKC playing in North America.
Gagner has played 4 years here.
I don't see how the two are comparable by age as it relates to NHL career performance.
The best youtube video of the year is Guy on a Buffalo and I plan to reference it every time Robin Brownalee or someone else goes all GoaB (aka Chuck Norris) on a guy.
@russ99
Russ - agreed, the reason that Omark is still here is because he has a history of producing in the SEL and KHL, but he had a lot of opportunity last year and looked pretty lost on a lot of nights. He has his moments and even his games where he looks like he could be a solid NHLer.
oilers first in the west?habby and dubnyk leading the way?the defence(sutton,gilbert,smid,potter)kickin butt with barker starting to fit in?an excellent penalty kill?a much improved power play?the kids leading the way with smyth and horcoff bringing it?doing good in the faceoff circle?(thanks belanger)and still waiting for hemsky and whitney to be healthy,this team is only getting better folks oh what a feeling!anybody else feel a major similarity to the 06 team?(this one is better,hall,hopkins,eberle)they are playing same style,making scoring chances count,getting outshot and shutting down other teams powerplay and a hot washed up goalie!I be thinking we are having alot more hangovers this spring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
