@ Kodiak. The difference being that Gagner froze the defender and made a nice soft pass putting his teamate in a high potential scoring area where Omark would have done two or three spin-o-ramas, finally delivering a 100 mile an hour pass on his teamates backhand in a poor scoring position.

What do you mean by "don't get too carried away"? Gagner is the more proven player over Omark, and is a couple of years younger. Gagner will play at least the 2nd toughs this year and will succeed once he gets his legs going again. I hate the need for Oiler fans to make "Goats" out of good players like Gagner and Gilbert.

Knock it off.

Omark isnt playing any time soon.

omark is older and has not done nearly anything that gagner has done. stop being swayed by all his flash it doesnt equal a good hockey player. did you see how aweful he was on the pp when he was playing. made me want to puke

I don’t mean to be argumentative, it’s pretty hypocritical for people to say stop hating Gagner, but at the same time people basically trash Omark?

Another thing how much more proven is Gagner this year to Omark? 1 point.

This is where you throw stats down proving Gagner over the last so and so years has produced so and so points! Is younger and will develop into a super hero.

As for trending a player, if that was the case Horcoff would not have struggled so bad that year and would have had a 70 point season. Fact is nobody knows season to season how a player will play. Case in point Lupal and Kessel.

For the record, as a rabid Oilers fan! I like Gagner a lot! I also want Omark to succeed for the team! The more offense the Oilers can create the better it is for the team! I say both go out a score 60 points each!

As a season ticket holder I’ve watched all the games and can honestly say the difference between the two players is negligible at best.

Until tonight, secondary scoring was our team's biggest concern. Doesn't it make sense for the Omark and Gagner crowds to unite, and demand we try to get them both going? How much longer are we going to pretend that eight minutes of Ben Eager is helping this team win?

If may take a second to hate Eager, Petrell and Jones duplicate his hitting and Peckham and Sutton duplicate his fighting, and all four of those guys do other things. Why do we need him? More Gagner! More Omark!

Gagner gets points at a rate about 50% better then Omark has despite being younger. He also has scored goals at about 3x the rate Omark has. He has done this over the past couple of years while playing tougher minutes.

I would like to see Omark have success here as well, but you simply lose credibility when you suggest that the difference between Gagner and Omark is negligible.

Are you simply looking at 4 games by a guy who came back from injury and assessing that as his value to the team?

the violin guy at the beginning is equally epic but has these amazingly creepy eyes. hilarious. european pop music is a real sight to behold... it is vaguely familiar, almost like north american pop, but off just enough to make you tilt your head, squint your eyes, scratch your head and say "huh... weird... do people like that?... i guess... it is catchy... but so irritating... but that's what makes it funny... right?... it is supposed to be funny, right?.... no?.... well, whatever... it's still kinda funny"

10 games in. I've watched every game and correct me if I'm wrong but were we not leading or at least even by the start of the 3rd. We are not an elite team yet, so getting out-shot heavily in the third is to be expected. If we were down in the third I'm sure the shot differential would be much different. Needing a goal means you need to turn on the offense and somewhat neglect defense. We are in the position of protecting and doing it quite well. Great team defense.

Yes. It was me. I predicted this. After the first month of the season, I knew Phil Kessel would be leading the scoring race, Khabbie would be the top goalie in the NHL, and The Edmonton Oilers would lead the league in defence and be on top of the Western Conference. In my crystal ball, I see the Eskimos signing Peyton Manning and winning the Grey Cup 5 years in a row, and the Edmonton Capitals winning the World Series in 2013. You're welcome.

Wow . . .that just happened!! Goaltending again was solid even with Ave's crashing the net constantly.

Dman - Sutton/Smid/Gilbert continue to amaze although I hope Brendan realizes Sutton is 6'7" and not suspension for the hit on the Rookie. Peckman the only weak link with another give away early on but Dubie saving him this time.

and finally . . .

The Respond Goal - how long has it been since we had that type of goal 18 seconds later! Smyth (3A) and Horcs were the differnce here to take all the pressure off in period 3.

this is a fun ride to be on . . .
