Nations contributors Steve Dangle and Andrey Osadchenko have been tabbed by the KHL youtube channel to put together KHL highlight packages for the season this year. This is their debut video - if everyone likes it, we can make it a regular feature here at the Nations.
Enjoy!
This Metallurg Magnitogorsk vs Amur game features a sick goal from Malkin and a big hit from Kulemin.
Kovalchuk gets a hat trick on a line with Blues prospect Vladimir Tarasenko and former Coyotes 1st round pick Viktor Tikhonov. The chemistry with Tarasenko is sick. The assists might even be better than the goals.
A lot of defenceman with NHL experience getting on the board in this one: Viktor Hedman, Dmitry Kulikov, and Mark Flood.
Not a good night for Flames prospect goalie Karri Ramo as he and Avangard Omsk get lit up.
And if you can't get enough, here is the full daily KHL update, including all four of the packs about, and some bonus action from other games. There's a shootout goal at the end that would make Peter Forsberg proud.
I sure hope you pulled that 'other article' because of pressure from sponsors instead of because of closed-minded goose-steppers. One is an acceptable bow to pressure, the other further leads us towards a future that's just too depressing to think about.
I would like to see these as a regular feature.
I likey.. Keep em comin
More please.
MOAR!!!
I see Feaster assigned Howse, Wahl, Patterson, Cameron, Martin and Tuzzolino (whomever he is) to the ECHL.
That doesn't bode well for their development future, especially Wahl and Howse.
The Oilers sent down Rajala and Cornet to Stockton in favour of Pelss and Martindale. Seems a lot of players are losing their AHL spots this season.
Anyone know if the Heat assignments are due more to poor play or a numbers game brought on by the lockout?
@RexLibris
We'll have more on that this week.
@Kent Wilson
Oops, sorry I let the cat out the bag.
did they imply in that video that Tarasenko's office is behind the net? there's only one man who has the right to call that his office!!
but all in all great vid, right now any hockey is good hockey and I would welcome more of these.
More please. Thank-you.
@Rob Here here, debate is good, censorship nyet.
@Pouzar99
I like anything that makes the NHL or NHLPA take note and think that perhaps they should settle things sooner rather than later.
@Rob...
It was taken down for a couple of reasons -
1.) The community here is very important to us and while disagreements can and do happen from time-to-time, we didn't want to threaten the overall feel of the site with an article that was just supposed to be quick laugh/distraction from the dark lock-out times.
2.) ON has a couple of other big articles on the site today which I felt were much more worthy of attention than a protracted argument about political correctness, humor types, etc.
It was a misstep, but it's over. Let's move on everyone.
@Pouzar99
That's the plan!
not a khl highlite, in fact more of a low light but for those that haven't seen here is a fight Wayne Simmonds had last week in div 2 German league.

Im glad you guys pulled that article (not because I found it racist or sexist or whatever, because I actually found it funny) but because this site is better than that and always has been, not judging just thought it was the appropriate call.
Damn it . I always miss everything...
Clearly goalie interference on 2nd goal in SKA vs CSKA. No mention of it? Wait which team is which again? Did the Oilers win the Cup yet? What? Why is
*sheds tear*
I read the entire Horcov bit,for the sake of peanut seat voting I have no issues with it,I did however pick up the heat that was coming off of it.
I am very impressed with the way Mr.Wilson has stood by his work, I dont believe self-editing is really censorship,it displays class and instinct.Professionals listen to the feedback and reaction of the people their work effects and act quickly to balance this dynamic when they feel it slipping one way or the other.This is the proper and professional way to adjust an imbalance,"police thyself first".The action of removing something before it catalyses a ground fire that wasnt intended is known as professional acumen,Kudos to you . Thanks for the KHL highlights OP,it is nice to see the action.
