This week the three amigos* were joined in studio by former Oiler turned Sportsnet National Broadcaster Louie DeBrusk. Among the people seated around the table there were exactly 1435 NHL PIMs although the distribution was far from even.
We started out with me having a good laugh that the boys had actually recorded the podcast the week before but some sort of technical error cut off one of the mics and it had to be redone. Never fear - now there are a whole whack of the Nation Team milling about during the recordings ensuring that the hot fire spat is never lost again.
Once my laughter subsided Gregor went on an epic rant about how the NHL is ruining itself with a failure to call penalties in a consistent manner. Strudwick and DeBrusk seemed to think that it wasn't as big an issue although it is a concern. Then Strudwick and DeBrusk recalled fight stories from their days in the show including the time they fought each other! Faced with this sort of all world toughness I was forced to bring up how I recently watched all of season one of The Crown on Netflix and consider Queen Elizabeth II to be the finest monarch of the modern age.
It's like peas and carrots all mixed together in one big bowl on this show I swear.
You can give a listen here.
*A term I have taken to calling the panel the Three Amigos without any endorsement from the other two that we are in fact "friends"
