A little bit too Eager

Friday night, Edmonton Oilers forward Ben Eager got into an altercation with a doorman at a bar in Toronto. Details are a little slim and I don't really care what happened. Bar fights happen every night all across Canada but when they involve a NHL player, especially during a lock out, it becomes big news.

With the NHL in full lockout mode a lot of the hockey world’s focus has shifted to the AHL. Edmonton Oiler fans are very interested in the Oklahoma City Barons. With Eberle, Nugent-Hopkins and Paarjarvi playing there already and Hall practicing with the team it makes a lot of sense. Throw in first year pro Justin Schultz and all the other prospects on the team and we are talking about many of the young blue chip studs the Oilers have in their system. I am sure Oilers management is hoping the current Barons lineup will be all over the Oilers roster in the years to come.

With the lockout looking like it could go on for a while I thought I would share an interesting story from my time in Hungary last lockout. I went over there in January with my cousin and great friend Rob Niedermayer. It was great to play in an organized league after so many months of just waiting around.
We had a great time there and we were treated incredibly well. I have many great stories from our time in Hungary but I will start with this one because it is something I don't think I will see again!
Are the Edmonton Oil Kings hungry enough to repeat?

Winning a championship isn't easy. It is a road full of long hard games, endless battles and mountains of ice bags. Why do teams to it? Because it is so worth it! All the sacrifices, hard practices, workouts and lost teeth are forgotten the second you hoist up a championship trophy.
NHL replacement players? Forget about it!

I have always been a big fan of Abba. Love the music, the beat and even the dancing they did in concert. However, unlike Wanye after a break up, I never cried myself to sleep listening to 'One of Us'. Doesn't mean I didn't feel the passion!
I would love to see them live in concert. It would be awesome. Reports out of Sweden say they were offered a billion dollars to get back together. They turned it down, no chance of a reunion tour. Brutal! So what is the next best thing?
Replacements! Same music, clothes, beat and dancing, but still just replacements. It just wouldn't be the same. The quality just wouldn't be there.
