We are legitimately distressed with the Oilers failing to make the playoffs this year. We really thought when they held the 8th place position for all of 37.2 seconds they had turned the corner and the good times that we have all been promised for so long had finally arrived.

So where does a heartbroken fan run to in times of need? How about somewhere where the home team hasn't won anything in over 100 years and yet people still regularly part with their hard earned money to watch them rebuild for the 1,506th time. A Cubs game in Chicago is the perfect play.

Nail Yakupov has impressed the socks right off my feet this season. Seriously, they are gone. I have no idea where their ultimate destination will be but they were last seen heading to the horizon at an incredible speed.

We will take a quick minute to give everyone an update on the OilersNation drive to donate $200,000 to charity annually and chirp Jason Gregor for being a crusty old man. Beats reading about how the other 29 teams in the NHL made the playoffs but our beloved Oilers didn't.

Sometimes times are dark. And during those times it is advisable to sit back in one's easy chair and remember better days. Like a former high school athletic star, you look far to the horizon and say aloud to anyone within earshot "I remember fine times from long ago. Why this one time..."
