If the image above were even remotely true, the mediocre Oilers would feel empowered, even emboldened by their shameful performance over the last, oh, two months. But with 12 losses in a row, mediocre's probably too generous a word.

Regardless of what Willis has to say about Jordan Eberle's future in the NHL, I can't help but be beaming at this young man's performance in the World Junior Tournament. Whether he's breaking out, or in some kind of weird career Twilight Zone of Goodness right now isn't really that important to me.

Things just aren't improving in OilersNation. There's talk of dumping this player or that player to free up cap space, Pat Quinn cancelled the traditional team mini-vacation in favour of bag skates, and perhaps worst of all, the Oilers will be competing with the World Junior Gold Medal Final for viewers tonight. You have a choice, faithful hockey fans: watch a sure-fire exciting match up with Canada's juniors taking on the USA... or pay $16 to see if the Oilers can down the Coyotes (because standard def is for chumps).
