It's a weird day, nationeers, for a lot of reasons. On the one hand, it's a solemn day on this the anniversary of September 11, 2001. On the other hand, it's the first day of the rest of our lives.

I have some news that -- blessedly -- has nothing to do with Dany "WaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAH" Heatley. One of the members of my crack team of visual designers at the day-job was just sent this fabulous little gem about the Oil probably getting a new arena.
Note that this is still JUST RUMOUR. But it's compelling and sexy nonetheless.

10:14pm MDT update: Heatley will not waive his no-trade clause. He stays in Ottawa, and won't come here.
Earlier tonight: Just got off the phone with Gregor:
"The Oilers have traded Dustin Penner, Ladislav Smid and Andrew Cogliano for Dany Heatley. This will add $2.1 million to the Oilers' payroll."

We're still taking donations! We've achieved our goals for sending Jason Gregor to the 2009 NHL Entry Draft to cover all the goings-on for the OilersNation. But we still want to raise as much money as possible for the Stollery Childerns Hospital Foundation! Donate today!
I spent most of my life watching ITV News here in good old E-town. I remember the weather with Bill Matheson and sports with Darren Dutchyshen. Lately, of course, I catch the six o'clock news with Lynda Steele and Gord Steinke.Journey to the Fin Du Monde

As loyal Nationeers are aware, something excellent happened last week – something that could only happen when a bunch of ridiculous Oilers fans band together to ensure that they're getting best coverage a young website can provide them with.
Like a pack of maddened, hockey-obsessed jackals, you goons got together and decided to fundraise to send a Nation writer to Montreal so you could get all the Entry Draft coverage you'd ever want. It started with a snide remark Brownlee made about Wanye being a "cheap screw".
