The Edmonton Oilers have placed veteran forward Ben Eager on waivers.
If they redid the 2012 Draft, would Nail Yakupov still go first overall?

Brett Clark, a veteran of 700 NHL games between the regular and post-season, has been a godsend for an Oklahoma City team that basically had to do a midseason rebuild once the 2012 lockout ended. Through 18 games he has 17 points and a plus-7 rating. Is he playing well enough that he’s going to get another NHL shot?
What about Ladislav Smid?

There’s a school of thought that suggests playoff hockey is war, and the team with the biggest, strongest players will carry the day every time. Is that kind of team necessary to win in the post-season, and if so what do the Oilers need to do to get there themselves?
