Often, if Connor McDavid isn’t scoring the Edmonton Oilers aren’t scoring. Over the last 10 games, McDavid has picked up a point on 14 of the team’s goals; the rest of the lineup has only managed a grand total of 13 without his help.

The Edmonton Oilers had themselves a game against the woeful Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday. Not only did the team score six goals, but three prominent players who hadn’t been scoring much had strong nights offensively.

Were strong nights from Milan Lucic, Jordan Eberle and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins a sign of things to come?

The World's Best Minor-League Defenceman

Taylor Fedun was a fan favourite in Edmonton virtually from the moment he joined the Oilers. The undrafted college defenceman had an impressive training camp in the fall of 2011 and appeared on track to make the team when he slammed into the boards during a preseason game, breaking his femur.

He lost a year to that injury, and has spent most of his subsequent seasons in the AHL. He's always showed well during his various recall, and today finds him in the majors again and once again scoring at an unexpected rate.
