You remember Chuck Sherman a.k.a "The Shermanator" from American Pie. He wet himself at Stifler's party after everyone found out he lied about getting some loving. He was embarrassed and never fully recovered. I wonder how Avs GM Greg Sherman, who is far from a geeky liar, felt after hearing Hall of Famer Peter Stastny, father of current Avs forward Paul Stastny, rip him and the entire Avs organization.

The Edmonton Oilers played a hockey game on the road against the Minnesota Wild earlier this evening. As with most games the Oilers play on the road against the Wild, this one ended in a loss.

Let the good times roll.

The Oilers have won three straight, Taylor Hall gave fans some afternoon wood after scoring a natural hat trick v. Atlanta on Saturday and once again you can watch an Oiler game without peering through your hands to see how the horror show will end. Life as an Oiler fan is liveable right now, but when you're looking at a fifth consecutive spring without playoffs liveable doesn't equate to satisfied.

Buying Out Souray

Sheldon Souray cleared re-entry waivers earlier today, meaning that none of the NHL’s 29 teams felt he was worth the remainder of $2.25 million for this season and the entirety of that figure for 2011-12. What happens next is ultimately known only to the Oilers brain-trust, but a buyout seems like a decent possibility.

More Kids in the Hall

The Oilers already have their Jacks and Kings on the wing rolling over the next decade. They lack 6's and 7's and could use a complete defenseman and a workhorse 2-way C of the future. If they are to trade Hemsky and Penner, Steve Tambellini should be looking for a very specific return--young NHL players with a wide range of skills.
