When you've only won eight home games, you try to relish them and make sure they all count. On Tuesday Rexall was rocking and rolling like it hadn't since the home opener victory over the Calgary Flames back on October 7th. Tonight the home town faithful will be hard pressed to match the annoying chants of Canadiens' fans.

Oilers/Stars Postgame: Unlikely Heroes

The setting for tonight’s contest between the Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars was not particularly auspicious. The Stars, after enjoying a return to dominance in the West over the early part of the season, have seen their fortunes fall in February and now face the real possibility of losing their playoff spot. Meanwhile the Oilers, into their second season as the NHL’s worst team, were fresh off arguably their worst weekend of the year.

I wonder if the Big Guy was thinking about Oiler fans when he said this? The Oil might need some Divine Intervention if they hope to pick up their 8th home win of the season tonight. Yes, if you are season ticket holder, you have only left Rexall seven times with that winning feeling. If you aren't a regular and somehow managed to be at Rexall for a win, consider yourself lucky.

They've lost seven straight at home, and during that span they are 1-for-29 on the PP and have scored a grand total of ten goals. I understand the team isn't that talented or experienced at this point, but they need to start giving the home town crowd something to cheer about.
