Three straight days of just drills, neutral zone coverage, skating, shooting, skating, defensive zone coverage, three-on-twos, time at the whiteboard, two-on-ones, skating and more neutral zone coverage make it difficult to evaluate who has had a good camp. Hell it's day three and I had to talk about haircuts just to break up the monotony.

It seems there is finally a trade rumour about Sheldon Souray that wasn't written by a hopeful Oilers fan, desperate to conjure up a scenario to get Big Sexy on the first thing leaving the International Airport.
The Columbus Dispatch is reporting that the Blue Jackets may be interested in doing a deal.

Scott Cullen at TSN.ca has listed his projections for the top 250 points-getters for the 2010-11 NHL this season. He has 10 members of the Edmonton Oilers listed in that group.

One of the things Oilers fans should look for this season are subtle wrinkles in playing style. Things like how the team forechecks, how they get out of their own zone under pressure, how they run their powerplay. History tells us "systems" can make a helluva difference. A lesser team can level the playing field with hard work and a game plan the other team is unprepared to deal with; 35 years ago, it stopped a dynasty in its tracks.

The Oilers finally hit the ice for 2010 training camp, and while no one needed a puke bucket, some of them might have had a headache from all the chalkboard time. Tom Renney spent a lot of time teaching on the whiteboard this morning.
