Shawn Horcoff. Keith Ballard. Matt Stajan. Mike Komisarek. The list is a lot longer than that, but it sometimes feels like every team in the league has a player or two whose contracts they’d love to make disappear.
That’s why some sort of amnesty buyout could be an appealing option when the NHL and NHLPA eventually get together and work out the next collective bargaining agreement.

I'm not sure why management at TEAM 1260 hasn't seen fit to give me my own radio show yet, but until they correct that oversight, I'm happy to ride shotgun twice a week as a co-host with Jason Gregor and thankful for fill-in gigs like the one I'll have Saturday on Nation Radio.

The way I see it, Devan Dubnyk is progressing nicely along the development curve and has a decent chance to be the Edmonton Oilers starting goaltender for the next decade. Some of you may see it differently.

This summer, it’s highly likely that prized Anaheim Ducks defensive prospect Justin Schultz will become an unrestricted free agent. While the NHL’s other 29 teams – including the Oilers – would all undoubtedly love to get a hold of him, Edmonton might be a uniquely appropriate fit.
If Schultz sees things that way, the Oilers could address a lot of problems immediately.
