Once Nail Yakupov’s arch-rival for being considered the 2012 top prospect, Mikhail Grigorenko now finds himself dropping out of top-10 in almost every mock draft he’s unfortunate enough to take a look at. While some complain about his work ethic, others bring up the rumor about his alleged age-forging issue.

It's an exciting time for fans of the Edmonton Oilers. Another thrilling draft ('we're number one') means the club will add an outstanding young player to their already bursting roster of exceptional under 23's. On the other hand, the list of "things to do" at the NHL level before September is once again enormous.

It’s a decent year for goalies, with a trio – Andrei Vasilevski, Malcolm Subban and Oscar Dansk – all arguably under consideration for first-round status. The trio were all ranked in the top-35 of Bob McKenzie’s latest list and any of the three might be available when the Oilers pick early in the second round.
Should the Oilers use an early pick on one of them?

A lot of people believe that if Sarnia Sting centre Alex Galchenyuk hadn't missed most of the 2011-2012 season with a knee injury he'd be neck and neck with teammate Nail Yakupov as the top-ranked prospect going into the NHL Entry Draft in Pittsburgh.

Since they left the ice after G7 SCF '06 the Edmonton Oilers have traded, bought out and walked away from many, many actual NHL players. The idea--certainly since 2010 spring--was to go "scorched earth" and to have a quality cluster who could grow together. With that in mind, it would be quite surprising if the Oilers dealt Sam Gagner for a draft pick.
