The CHL and European leagues have completed their regular seasons, and that means we can suss through the numbers and project the offensive future for Edmonton's prospects. Using Gabriel Desjardins NHL equivalencies, Martin Gernat is a rising star.

Charlie Sheen's "Winning" trend faded out quicker than the Flames's playoff hope the past ten days. Sure it was exciting, funny or annoying for awhile, but inevitably we got the expected outcome.
Suddenly Oiler fans are facing a dilemma themselves regarding Winning! The Oilers are 5-2-3 in their last ten, a 106-point pace for a full season, and suddenly are on the verge of losing the #2 overall draft pick.
A win over the Blue Jackets would put the Oilers in 28th, due to more regulation wins than the Canadiens, and they'd be tied in points with the Islanders and one back of the Wild.
Do you enjoy the victories and head into the off-season believing this team has turned the corner, of do you hope they return to their 29th-place pace for the final seven games?
It is a difficult question on a Sunday morning.

It’s been an awfully nice 10-game run for the Edmonton Oilers. The team has gone 5-2-3 in that span, and with Devan Dubnyk between the pipes (5-1-1 in that stretch) there’s a possibility that the team finishes the year strongly.
That’s good news for a lot of people – particularly for Tom Renney, in the last year of his contract; for Steve Tambellini, who publicly stated that the team should finish outside the NHL lottery. Let’s face it, it’s nice for fans too, who have seen a lot of losing hockey since that run to the Finals in 2006.
How much impact has it had on the standings?

Last night, the Edmonton Oilers played the Florida Panthers. It was their 12th game in the month of March. Cam Barker did not dress; he has not dressed for any of the dozen games the team has played this month.
