In 1991, the New Jersey Devils selected Scott Niedermayer 3rd overall. He is one of the best #3 picks in history along with Denis Savard, Pat Lafontaine and Henrik Sedin, and Jonathan Toews should be in the conversation when his career is over.
I've said for months I didn't expect the Oilers to trade up or down, and I suspect they will use their pick tonight.
But how good will their pick be? It is impossible to say, but here is a history of the #3 pick, as well as all the top-four picks over the past 35 seasons.

It's that time of year again! The Oilers are drafting 3rd overall and the rebuild will get another useful piece that will likely get rushed into action. Who will they choose? Will they make a trade? Will I fall down drunk at the Draft Party? These are questions that will have answers in due time.

Ok, Bergeron 2.0 is a pretty unfair question to ask, but you can blame Jared McCann for that. His gifted offensive talents combined with the pride he takes in shutting the opposition down could make him a name that comes up in Selke talk in the future.
I was fortunate enough to talk to the projected mid-to-late first-rounder about his game, his development, and learning both ends of the ice. Warning: May also contain totally sweet highlight reel video.

Hey everyone! Steve "Dangle" Glynn here. I'll be in Philadelphia with Canucks Army overlord Dimitri Filipovic for this year's NHL Entry Draft! We'll be gathering lots of content, some team specific and some that everyone can enjoy, so I hope you like it! I'm not in Philly just yet but I wanted to get a head start with interviews of some of this year's draft prospects. Thanks for reading!

It's the night before Christmas, and we're all on pins and needles about the NHL Entry draft. WHAT is going to happen? I don't want to spoil the party, but there are some things worth considering.
