My old pal Boyd Gordon is getting some love in this city right now and well deserved. It’s nice he’s finally in a hockey market where his subtle intangibles will be greatly appreciated and on full display.

The 2010 Entry Draft is struggling. Once heralded by many (well, me) as a possible Oilers watershed, the 2010 edition of "Dollar Sign on the Muscle" has given the Oilers 1 NHL player. How about the rest of the league?

The dressing room is supposed to be a safe place for players. That is said time and again between coaches and players. Things that are said or happen between those walls stay between those walls.
Joe Thornton is making headlines today, for a comment he directed in a humorous way at a scrum of reporters that were interviewing another player. He was not being interviewed himself. He said something sarcastic about scoring four goals in one game and what he would do to celebrate.

The rest of the Nation Network authors have brilliant insights on the game, use statistical models more appropriate for predicting the weather than NHL hockey or have players perspectives the rest of us can only dream of. Yeah well, your ol' pal Wanye stood next to a big name in the NHL in the little gentleman's room at RX1 last night.

The Edmonton Oilers refusal to shoot the puck on the powerplay likely cost them two points. The Oilers had four minutes of PP time in the first 4 1/2 minutes of the game, and didn't have one decent scoring chance, they only had one shot. They could barely enter the zone on their first two man advantages, and their unwillingness to just fire the puck on the powerplay was evident throughout the game.
