It took 113 days but the NHL and their players agreed to a new 10-year CBA early this morning. There is an opt-out clause after eight years, so the best news is that we won't have to go through this until the summer of 2020, mainly because I don't trust either side to not use the opt-out clause. Either way, it is great that NHL hockey is back.
So what happens now?

The NHL lockout finally came to an end thanks to a marathon bargaining session that started Saturday and stretched into the early hours of Sunday morning. So what happens next for the Edmonton Oilers?

Our long national nightmare is over. The NHL and NHLPA--with a major assist from mediator Scot Beckenbaugh--have reached a tentative agreement!

It's completely understandable that a great many of NHL fans have taken a "Whatever, just tell me when it's done" stance toward updates about ongoing CBA negotiations (now that there actually are some) as days have turned into weeks and weeks have turned into months. Fair enough.

When you're the consensus 'best player in the tournament' and coming home without a medal, it can be difficult to find a silver lining. For Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, the scoring title (pending, but likely) will be of little consolation; what do we make of his performance? Yakupov's?
