The leader in streakcred - Rmo2000 - has now crashed and burned and his streak is over at 8 wins in a row. In fact the entire top 20 players in the game have all lost their streaks and everyone is starting again from zero. This is the time for the second wave of people looking to play to get involved.

Tyler Pitlick's pro hockey career has been just this shy of a train wreck. Terrible boxcars married to serious injury, and many nights as a scratch didn't help either. His most recent injury--and its severity--appear to have had an impact on the young man. Whatever happened, he is showing some signs of life after a long, long period of transition.

I had a long chat with Marty at the draft about a variety of topics, and then he came on my radio show to discuss suspensions, intimidation, playing tough and how players learn to compete at the NHL level.

Jason Smith arrived in a trade from Toronto (a 2nd and a 4th) in 1999, his third team in three seasons. An under the radar transaction led to a perfect fit for player and team that culminated in the "C" and a long Stanley run. It was the best of times.
