Instead of squeezing present shopping around Hockey Night in Canada or Battles of Alberta, we've had to put up with histrionic lawyers at press conferences, game cancellation announcements and endless debates about which side of the labor argument is more reprehensible.

Nathan MacKinnon headlines a strong group of 2013 draft eligibles who will be playing at the 2013 World Junior Championships. Canada has an unusually large number of draft eligibles--three--and each of them looks like they'll be strong prospects for the 2013 entry draft.

A SOFT DEADLINE?

The NHLPA still hasn't decided if they will file a disclaimer of interest. Do you think it would take four days for them to vote on a proposal that included 54% HRR from the league and no cap on contract length? This is just another laughable step in an inexcusable lockout.

The best part is we all know we are getting closer to a decision regarding the 2013 season and yesterday Bill Daly admitted as much on HNIC radio.
