There’s a problem down at the Plante

The Oklahoma City Barons beat Texas 4-2 on Sunday. They did it without Alex Plante, who for the third time in seven games sat in the press box and watched. For a Plante, a first round draft pick, third year professional, and a guy with NHL games under his belt each year he’s been a pro, this is not a welcome development.

Another weekend without the NHL and many of you have continued to go on living. Crazy, I know, but it seems the NHL is more interested/concerned about the Winter Classic than actually negotiating you should get used to no-NHL weekends.

The continuing CBA negotiations have seen the NHL cancel X number of games and even threaten the Winter Classic and All-Star games. The looming threat of a cancelled season has also been implied .

The players, for their part, have been equally willing to let paycheques go by, losing money while holding to their negotiating stance, willing partners, it would seem, in this game of chicken.
