The first lazy Saturday of the 2010 Olympics have come and gone and we now consider ourselves an authority on speed skating, mogul skiing and the Gold Medal prospects of the Canadian Womens Ice Hockey Squadron. We have also heard enough sound bites of patriotic classical music to be able to write a series of National Anthems ourselves.

I thought it fitting to wait until Valentine's Day to have a go at the angst and moping by some members of the local media, those who've been in full sulk after being shown the cold shoulder by Edmonton Oilers owner Daryl Katz.

We will lead off by saying that we get excited about the Olympics. A 13 year old girl at a Justin Bieber autograph signing type excited. So you will have to take us with a grain of salt once the games kick get underway as we post 12,789 gushing comments like “Aren’t the Canadian Mens’ two man bobsled team the BOMB? Can you believe that Lyndon Rush won’t sled with Pierre Lueders anymore? What’s up with that?”
