According to NHL.com, Linus Omark stands 5’10” tall and weighs 174 pounds. Through the first 35 games of his NHL career, he has scored a grand total of three goals and along the way has also chalked up a minus-11 rating. Those aren’t marks of a player bound for a long and happy career as a top-six forward at the NHL level.
However, despite those superficially disappointing numbers, I think the Oilers have themselves a player in Linus Omark.

There is much to learn about Adam Larsson.

With Taylor Hall done for the season, Ales Hemsky on the IR again and Dustin Penner exchanging one-liners with Matt Greene in LA, Steve Tambellini put out the SOS for career-minor leaguer Alex Giroux. Giroux will play his 32nd NHL game tonight on a line with Andrew Cogliano and Liam Reddox. Giroux has a whopping 139 goals in his last 199 AHL games, so I'm sure we'll see him on the 2nd PP unit, but I don't think Giroux can do much to help the Oilers "Salvage Our Season."

Even if the Edmonton Oilers manage to win in Denver tonight, it's looking like the race for 30th place and the best odds at second straight No.1 draft pick will be a runaway by the time they get back from a five-game road trip.

This has been a tumultuous week for Edmonton Oiler fans. Dustin Penner dealt for futures, Hemsky down again and the Golden boy out for the season courtesy the one thing he can't do (fight) leaves Oilers Nation with the Bell Bottom Blues. Fortunately, the Oilers website has an article up that offers the Key to the Highway.
