Offer sheets are back, and in a big way. According to TSN’s Darren Dreger, the Philadelphia Flyers have signed defenseman Shea Weber to a 14-year contract worth more than $100 million.

It's true, we are all special in our own way, and usually we can't stand the differences in others. It's a vicious cycle, and at times I just want to put my hands up and shout, "Enough."
The Arena debate has become too much for me. Both sides have become so blinded by their goal that they can't even be rationale anymore.
Can we please just come to a conclusion.

In some ways, NHL defensemen are akin to major league pitchers: you can never have enough of them. Last season Edmonton used 13 blue to get through the season and the club already has 8 under NHL contract for next season. Why does a team need so many defensemen?

Theo Peckham had a good laugh on Jason Gregor's Show on TEAM 1260 today, and it wasn't about his listed weight of 235 pounds in the Edmonton Oilers media guide, although the guffaws were most certainly related to it.

Sam Gagner's arbitration hearing is scheduled for this Friday, but the chances are slim an arbitrator will decide his next contract. Last year 24 players filed for arbitration, but only Shea Weber sat in front of an arbitrator, and he was awarded a record-setting one-year $7.5 million deal.
In the past two years 55 players have filed for arbitration, but only six went the distance.
