I read an article on Irreverent Oiler Fans the other day that started me wondering on the offensive potential of Andrew Cogliano. That post worked backwards; looking at NHL impact players and identifying what percentage of them had similar seasons at the same age. What I’m about to do is the opposite; I’ll look at players who had similar offensive seasons to Andrew Cogliano and attempt to establish what range of offense he’s likely to produce as an NHL’er.

Round One of the 2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs are in the can and a few things are becoming clear. SJ might have been the biggest waste of a Presidency since GWB's second term in office. CGY continues to amuse us all with their special kind of suck and VAN might run out of weed if the Canucks are able to move through to the Western Final. Let's get right to it.

With the news coming out today that the Oilers are going to interview Tom Renney (shown above, demonstrating his easy going manner and rapport with his players), I thought it might be of interest to take a look at the records of NHL coaches post-lockout.

Well for the first time since 1994 the Vancouver Canucks are Canada's last hope to bring a Stanley Cup back to the homeland. Now that the Flames have crashed and burned, Alberta is stuck in quite a quagmire. Cheer for the Canucks? But they hate the Canucks.

I got a kick out of Jason Gregor's interview with Ron Low on TEAM 1260 Monday. It brought back some great memories. There were a lot of laughs working the beat when Low was coaching the Edmonton Oilers, even when he didn't have great talent to work with.
