It would be great to receive a boat load of cash for Christmas, and who knows maybe tomorrow's meeting with six owners and a group players will give you NHL hockey for Xmas. As great as it would be to receive that stack of cash, we get much more satisfaction out of giving, especially to those in need.

I’m not going to ignore the lockout completely, but given that Nugent-Hopkins is (likely) heading for the World Juniors, and that a whole mess of prospects are ripping up the minors there is plenty of actual hockey to talk about.

Joey Laleggia passed through 2 drafts before the Edmonton Oilers selected him in the deep bowels of the 2012 edition. Laleggia is off to another strong start at the University of Denver, and it's probably about time we asked the following question: is Joey Laleggia unique enough, talented enough, to make his mark in the world's best league?

Unless you've been away for a couple of months, the legend of Justin Schultz has washed over you and the Schultz-mania that will sweep our city the moment the lockout ends is something you're anticipating. What about the rest of the OKC defense? Are they progressing? Which of these young men is emerging as an NHL option, and who is getting left behind?
