The Oilers have the day off before getting back on the ice to prepare for the New York Rangers. I wonder what they will do on their off day.

I've seen a look in Dwayne Roloson's eyes that chilled me in the past, and I'm betting the Edmonton Oilers will see it tonight when he stares out at them from the goal crease at Veteran's Memorial Coliseum.

All of a sudden the Oilers can’t score, but even though they were blanked three times in the last week, they have scored the 7th most goals in the league. Through 14 games their offence has been fine, but like previous years, they are giving up too many goals.

Funny how the Flames escaped what for them has recently been the gruesome month of October with a fairly health 7-4-1 record and yet there are as many concerns and questions about the hockey club as ever.
Meanwhile, up in Edmonton, illness and a weird pattern of scoring either a lot or not at all has marked a .500-ish start for the Oilers.
And over in Vancouver, all the new space-age dressing-room features in the world hasn’t prevented the spate of injuries that have made the defending division-champion Canucks a very mediocre outfit.
