Not gonna lie to you - not a lot of huge names in these games. There. I was straight up. But there are some great highlights, including one goal I'd put in the conversation for goal of the year in the Ak Bars vs. Neftekhimik game.

Looking at the Oilers' forward prospects in the AHL this year, I see three distinct groups. There is the NHL trio of Jordan Eberle, Taylor Hall and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, three fantastic players who have nothing to prove and will (barring serious injury) enjoy long careers in the majors. After that three, there are two legitimate prospects - Teemu Hartikainen and Magnus Paajarvi. Then there's everyone else, a group of players who aren't doing nearly enough.
It's something that becomes particularly obvious when this year's group is compared to the 2004-05 Edmonton Roadrunners.

Mikhail Grabovski scores a nice OT-winner, some wicked saves between Dynamo Moscow and Slovan, and more! If you have to watch just ONE game, watch SKA-Red Army. Great game.

Nail Yakupov is awesome. I'm not talking about his on-ice talents, which are pretty damn good; I'm referring to his ability to be honest. He isn't walking cliché, and I hope the Oilers don't try and neuter his vocal cords when he eventually suits up for them.

This is Nathan MacKinnon, back in Halifax in the Mooseheads dressing room. The talented forward is in Ufa today, part of Team Canada at the WJ's and adding a page to his draft resume. MacKinnon and Seth Jones are generally regarded as the top 2 players for the 2013 draft, and according to several tweets by Bob McKenzie today MacKinnon is the consensus #1.
