@Lowetide: how do these prospects rank as a group? Finishing out of the playoffs for nine straight years, these should be one of the best prospect groups in the NHL.

        • Lowetide

The Oilers were graduating kids to the NHL from the first round before MacT arrived. I’d say Edmonton’s prospect group is mid-pack, maybe No. 20. It’ll get a major bump if they keep all of this year’s picks and use them wisely.

      • Lowetide

What are the rules in regard to returning NHL players back to the farm for an AHL playoff run after the end of NHL season? Can the half team of AHLers (Musil, Davidson, Marincin, Gazdic, Miller, Pitlick, Fraser etc) be send back? Are there any roster freeze window? Same waiver rules as regular season?

        • Lowetide

They have to be on the clear day roster. Which means Marincin, Davidson, Musil, Miller but not Gazdic, Pitlick or Fraser. And yes iirc if they tried to send Lander down he’d be on waivers.

      • Lowetide

I think we should all go to bed every night praying that Brossoit keeps developing and reaches his potential. Quality goaltending (especially quality young goaltending) solves so many problems.

      • Lowetide

The fan base appears to have lost faith and trust in organization to develop and address and assess talent properly . MacT. in particular seeing as he is interim GM . Even Nurse and Draisaitl have yet to emerge as viable players , two attributed to GM . Doubt this years draftees will be ready either or put in a position to excel .

          You’re back!!!!

          *hugs madjam*

I love how your still getting downvotes even when you have accurate and logical comments. Guess all that nonsensical hot air you used to puff out on a regular basis has tarnished your reputation.

That Check from behind is nasty but at the same time the player turned right in to the boards, head down begging for a broken neck. In the split second that it went from chase to hit I have no idea how you can even have time to realize what is happening as the checking player and lay off. Scariest part is watching the guys head flop around as he falls to the ice after hitting the boards.

“Brad Hunt is an impact AHL player, Joey Laleggia might make Hunt moot.”

Why can’t we have both? One of these 2 will turn out to be a decent NHL player, can’t we keep both on the farm and see who turns out? If we only keep one, can we trust current Oilers management to keep the right one? I doubt it.

      • Sheldon "Oilers Fan for Life!!!"

Well as we Oilers fan continue to dream of the Draft Lottery and future domination, I wanted to share that in NHL 2015 season, I won the cup… and Calgary ended with the 1st overall pick. They of course picked McDavid but I was able to convince them to take my 2016 1st round and Jultz in a trade. Ahhhh….thank goodness for the fantasy as opposed to this miserable Oilers reality.
