Nikita Nikitin Placed on Waivers

The Oilers have placed Nikita Nikitin on waivers for the purpose of assignment to the Bakersfield Condors. Let’s see if anyone takes the penny before he gets there.

The Oklahoma City Barons sent some good defensemen to the NHL, and the good ones weren’t in the minors long. As the Bakersfield Condors get ready to take flight, how long will it be for the next crop to be ready?

Oilers’ Mclellan “happy” about the loss

Pump the brakes. The season is not over. The Oilers aren’t guaranteed another 28th place finish.  They lost a preseason game. They didn’t play well. They didn’t battle hard enough. All of this is true, and head coach Todd McLellan seemed almost happy it happened.

Opportunity Knocks

View image | When Anton Slepyshev was drafted I thought it was a good gamble by then GM Craig MacTavish. Today it looks like a great one. It might even go down as one of the best moves MacTavish made during his short and ill-fated tenure as general manager.

WWYDW: Sorting out the Goaltending

It’s abundantly clear that Cam Talbot is going to enter the season as the Edmonton Oilers’ No. 1 goaltender. After that, though, things get decidedly unclear. In this week’s edition of What Would You Do Wednesday, we ask our readers to explain how they would deal with the team’s two contenders for the job of…
