I never understood why he was ranked so low, everywher. He is a beast, puts up points even when not on PP last year. above average skater and a bomb from the shot. Not as tall as Seth, but more physical and meaner. Caleb is scoring at a better pace draft+ year then Seth in draft, both being their first year after US National Develpment. Seth Says Bear has a bigger hear than him and Bear Said Seth skates better than him with bigger strides with extra 3″ in height.

Similar to Kulikov, shorter but same weight as Muzzin, Alec Martinez. I definitely see Matt Niskanen in him, but a bit grittier maybe not quite as offensive.

Caleb Jones could be a great 3rd pairing 2nd PP unit guy with 200 hits and 20 pts a season and can shut guys down. I just am not sure where his hockey IQ is, but brother of Seth Jones, lets hope he got that gene as well.

Weekend Update is a waste of time. Plenty to talk about, then says nothing. Points don’t mean anything. Reinhart had a goal but was it an empty netter or game winning goal. How are the prospects doing. Did the Condors win this weekend. There has to another site to actually get some info?

        • Van isl Oiler

Why would anyone trash this comment? If there is plenty to talk about, then talk about it. We can all google Bakersfield Condors and the rest of the teams and get stats. I’m disappointed every week with this post. Whoopdy doo

          • Van isl Oiler

Because someone took the time to do that for us. I could care less about the prospects at their different levels until the AHL… Until these articles. Its nice to see who’s in the pipeline. I don’t need the comments. Facts are you can also find Condor scores on the web.

If you are disappointed with this post every week why do you continue to read it? I get excited seeing Bear and Jones among others performing well.

Don’t stop writing these, some of us aren’t completely ignorant.

            • Van isl Oiler

I actually don’t read this article 80% of the time anymore. I log onto the Condors website a couple times a week and check things out for myself and I go beyond that on my own on other sites. I guess if this is where you’re getting all your info. then good enough.

I love you key board warrior types… calling me completely ignorant.

              • camdog

Many times on these stories I skim over the numbers and read the blog posts, because sometimes there are posts from people that have seen some of these players play live. That’s where the valuable input comes from.

Lowetide provides the forum – we bring the discussion. Your comments on the other hand are a complete waste of time.

              • Van isl Oiler

So in your day to day life you just go around insulting people when you have a difference of opinion guys? When your co-worker or your wife or your friend disagrees with your opinion you just call them a fool or tell them they are completely ignorant? I highly doubt it, but you’re so brave posting on the internet. Yeah, it’s me who is the fool and completely ignorant. We are all allowed to disagree and post a comment, but don’t act all righteous and tough behind your keyboard. It’s you who comes off looking like the fool. The more I argue with you, the dumber I look, so I’m done. Good day

if only someone would invent a device into which you could input queries and derive information

who knows, such a device could be used for keeping up with current events and, possibly, sharing a viewpoint on topical issues, arguing with strangers and looking for pictures of cats

      • DieHartOiler

Boy, Reinhart has been a disappointment this year. Considering what we paid to get him and the one year AHL experience he already had back with the Islanders AHL affiliate, he should have been able to prevent Nurse from getting called up, who has been struggling mightily over the last 16 games or so. It makes me a bit worried about him, and his confidence is down the drain. Something else I noticed is that he has been fighting the puck a lot lately. And even when he has been carrying the puck to the offensive zone, he goes right behind the opposition’s goalie and looses the puck..

      • Jiff

I would like to have seen more progress in Reinhart’s performance in Bako. It almost looks like he is a slow learner at the pro game or his love for the game has gone away. He doesn’t appear to be deserving of a pro shot based on results. I watched quite a bit of him in the Dub and he was taking over games and played like a bull.

This has to be concerning to Chiarelli. Fleming is doing his best to polish the turd in interviews but Reinhart’s name is certainly not promient in any stats I’ve seen. Could this be more sulking in Bako similar to Yakimov, Slepyshev and now Reino with a lip on?

I’m liking the Kassian trade more and more. Great to see LB a clear #1 developing along with Laurikainen.

It’s early with Kassian but he seems on a good path and I love “hate them unless they’re on your team” kind of guys.

I take my job seriously and welcome input on all items written at ON. If these weekly updates have value, no problem continuing, but honestly it is no big item to flush them and write more traditional articles.

So, a question to you: If you are reading the comments section of this post and a regular ON reader, do you see value? If you don’t, I can absolutely (and would gladly) write other articles.

        Let me know!

      • Dipstick

LT please keep presenting the Weekend Update. I don’t comment much, but am an avid reader of these posts. If some people want more discussion it is easy to find. Thanks for all your efforts!

      • Van isl Oiler

I am constantly on this site and a few others that pertane to the Oilers. I am just one reader, but personally I find stats on other sites when it suites me. I can’t speak for others and clearly a few disagree with me. I don’t see many comments here, but I don’t know if that’s because not many are reading or if it’s because it’s just stats and there’s not much to talk about. Clearly the majority who have commented disagree with my point of view. As far as your overall writing abilities LT, I think you are a good writer and a valueable member of this site. I enjoy reading your articles. Keep em coming.
