Real Life Podcast Episode 20: Brad Winchester

The Edmonton Oilers are going back to the playoffs. For many fans aged 18-28 this will be their first trip to the playoffs as an adult.

Enjoy the ride, and this week we caught up with former Oilers Brad Winchester to discuss his wild 2006 playoff journey.

Winchester was a rookie in 2006 and he was had told some great stories about 2006.

He didn’t dress for game one, but after an OT loss head coach Craig MacTavish decided to add some youthful exuberance into the lineup.

Many of you likely remember him scoring the game winning goal in game two, but for Winchester his favourite moment came before the game.

I highly recommend listening to it. Jason Strudwick had never heard the story before and he loved it.

Winchester also spoke about the entire run to the Cup, some of MacTavish’s coaching strategies and how much fun it was being on that ride as an NHL rookie.
