According to Jack Michaels, Drake Caggiula has been ruled out for tomorrow’s rematch against the Devils and Anton Slepyshev will be a game time decision. Who will play 2RW? Place your bets.
The Edmonton Oilers depth at right wing takes another hit today as two of the guys that would potentially line up in those slots are either injured or questionable. That’s bad news no matter which way you slice it. With Drake Caggiula out after blocking a bomb from Ryan Pulock in last night’s game, and Slepyshev suffering from some unknown ailment, the Oilers are running out of options to play in the top six. Slepyshev would be an obvious guess to tap in, but he ended up being a scratch in last night’s game and is apparently questionable for tomorrow night so who knows what’s going on with him?
One thing is for sure, the Oilers are burning through their depth chart looking for answers on the right wing and they’re starting to run out of options. Are we getting close to a Ty Rattie call up? Is Puljujarvi going to make an appearance before the month is over? What happens if Slepyshev can’t play tomorrow? Regardless of what happens, the Oilers are running out of bodies and you have to wonder what Chiarelli plans on doing to fill the VOID.
THE FALLEN
Caggiula

FINALLY A GOOD INJURY UPDATE AROUND HERE
BRAD MALONE
Pretty sad that our two options that are out of commission for 2RW have a combined 3 points in 18 games.
It is pretty wild, right? Whoa boy.
Play Eberle LOL
Iggy
Hope they can figure it out. They have 16 men running this tire fire!^and thats not including Katz,Gretz,Lowe and Howdy Doody.
If they can try Yamamoto in top 6, no reason why they can’t try Rattie.
Without any moves:
Maroon – McDavid – Draisaitl
Lucic – Nuge – Strome
Malone – Jokinen – Kassian
Khaira – Letestu – Pakarainen
Calling up Ty Rattie:
Maroon – McDavid – Draisaitl
Lucic – Nuge – Rattie
Jokinen – Strome – Kassian
Malone – Letestu – Pakarainen
Times like this when I wish we still had Ryan Potulny, JF Jacques, Liam Reddox or even a healthy Dean Arsene for the back end.
Omark isn’t busy is he???
If there was ever a time to give a guy from the farm a try now would be the time. Give Rattie or pool party a call
Throw Strome on 2RW with nuge, Letestu plays 3c (Spot duty) and Malone or Jujar plays 4C.
For 1 game, what’s the harm?
Keep in mind I am saying to START the game not necessarily finish it lol:
Maroon – McDavid – Kassian
Lucic – Nuge – Draisaitl
Malone – Strome – Jokinen
Khaira – Letestu – Pakarainen
Drakes injury could be long term if broken foot .
heard on the radio nothing is broken
Thanks PC for doing nothing to shore up the forward depth this summer and signing Russell to a 4×4 years. This team is headed into cap hell with no depth. I figured he would have learned from his mistakes in Beantown, but I guess not.
How do we look on the back end without Russell and Sekera out and having to sign LD, maybe a chance on Pitlick but he would probably be insured by now , tough spot for PC when u have the 2 most expensive tandem in the league
This forward group screams waiver wire pick up.
Gotta give Rattie a shot. Word is he worked his ass off in the off season. RW putting up decent points. He will outplay Strome.
