Weekend Update: November 12 2017

It was a total recall for Jesse Puljujarvi this week and once again he scored in his first game of the NHL season. Here’s hoping he doesn’t come out of the lineup until 2040. Big weeks for Tyler Benson, Graham McPhee and Aapeli Rasanen.

Tough week for the goalies – in particular Wells and Skinner had tough weeks and Ellis struggled a bit. Starett is the exception but I expect upper echelon numbers in Wichita.

No points for Safin this week but he is peperring goalies – he leads the Q in shots – not just for rookies, overall.

Another 3 assists for Benson last night – all on the PP though – would like to see him get some even strength production but I’m just happy he is playing games. He is an elite prospect – if he can stay healthy, he’ll be a bit plus to the prospect pool.

Lagesson is back from injury – his last two games he played 17 and 19 minutes.

From accounts (Swedish Poster), Berglund will be back from injury after the Swedish League resumes from their break this week.

Hopefully Bear will be able to play soon – 4 or 5 games now he’s missed with the concussion. Hopefully its not too serious and he will not have any lingering effects.

I look for him to compete for a job next season (probably as a call-up).

A second solid game in the NHL for Jesse last night – robbed of an assist on the Lucic goal. He may need to be removed from this list soon which is a great thing
