Donnan and Vimy Hockey are Edmonton’s only public school hockey academies, developing Grade 3-12 student-athletes of ALL SKILL LEVELS. On the ice, Donnan and Vimy hockey focus on a variety of themes and units to maximize on-ice development and athletic movement. Away from the rink, Donnan and Vimy Hockey student-athletes receive off-ice training, exposure to multiple sports and activities, character building, leadership and goal-setting.

Visit Donnan.ca and VimyEdmonton.ca to see why Donnan and Vimy Hockey student-athletes are BECOMING MORE.

    • Brind’Amour is a 6th round pick so it’s no big gamble, but Cairns is a 3rd rounder and it’s reasonable to expect more from him. That said, he is a rookie at Cornell and rookies tend to get the shaft at the NCAA level.

its the philosophy, drafting players that cant even get to a ppg in the BCHL are not going to play in the nhl, as for cairns he is the same, couldnt produce in BCHL, not going to be a player in the NHL. The odds are much better to draft a player at that point with the highest NHLE. When your management team have shown that they are not good at drafting just pick from Mackenzies list.

i would like to see the oilers load up on picks one year. try to get 2 in each of the 3rd rounds and beyond. The scouts have no say in it, and they just draft from Bob macs list. Always take the highest ranked player, and no goalies.

Huge weekend for Safin with 7 points in 2 games.

This coincides with him being moved back to his natural right wing position. The Sea Dogs are so devoid of offensive talent up front they had Safin play center for a few games. Now that he’s back on right wing, he’s producing.

Samorukov is having a huge spike over the last few months (started before the WJHC).

He’s had a great stretch offensively and, with Merkley suspended for 3 games, he’s been able to show what he can bring offensively.

Even had an 8 shot game on the weekend.

Great offensive arrows although he’s got quite a bit of work to do on the defensive side of the game.

I expect him to be massive on the Guelph blueline next year.

yup, it’s tough to swallow that the Oilers drafted Matt cairns one pick ahead of St. Albert’s Josh Mahura. it’s not like we could use more offensive d-men in our system or anything….

  • Connor McFly

This Oiler organization is one unbelievable hot mess. TMC and staff could be fired for being detached from reality. That is only part of a much longer list that justifies sending him back to San Jose COD/PDQ.
