Prospect Update: Currie is Hot

There were some very big weeks for a couple of prospects in the system this week. Josh Currie crushed it this week with four goals and three assists in his last four games. Both Travis Ewanyk and Chad Butcher reached 28 points on the year with the Thunder with four and five point weeks respectively.

In transaction news, FINALLY Rattie is in the NHL. The Condors leading scorer this year will find his way into some NHL games to see if he has staying power going forward.

News on the Caleb Jones (and Ryan Mantha) front from @CondorsHolty:

Still trying to track down more info on what is wrong with Mantha but we’ll keep you updated. The AHL and junior leagues can be tough for finding accurate information but the updates will come as they are found.

AND this just in, the Oilers added Pontus Aberg to their system after trading veteran centreman Mark Letestu. Aberg will likely join the big club but I have included his stats with Milwaukee as a point of reference.

Donnan and Vimy Hockey are Edmonton’s only public school hockey academies, developing Grade 3-12 student-athletes of ALL SKILL LEVELS. On the ice, Donnan and Vimy hockey focus on a variety of themes and units to maximize on-ice development and athletic movement. Away from the rink, Donnan and Vimy Hockey student-athletes receive off-ice training, exposure to multiple sports and activities, character building, leadership and goal-setting.

The Condors are going to get a pretty massive influx of talent next year.

Benson, Hebig and, possibly, Yamamoto up front. Tyler Vessel will presumably be signed and headed to Bakersfield as well. Aberg could be with the Condors as well (although hopefully he makes the NHL team out of camp on merit).

The defence already has some great young talent and will add WIllie Lagesson next season.

Following season should see the likes of Maksimov, Safin, Samorukov, etc.
