Oilers recall Keegan Lowe

For what seems like the 10th time this season (actually only a couple times), Keegan Lowe has been recalled from the Bakersfield Condors on an emergency basis.

If you missed it this morning, Andrej Sekera has been shut down for the rest of the year due to an injured knee. Unfortunately, it is the same knee he had surgery on last summer. Hopefully, it’s not too serious and that he can heal it up in the offseason no problem. With Sekera injured, it means it’s Keegan Lowe’s time to shine!

Even though Lowe has been called up a couple times this season, he’s never actually played a game for us just yet. It’s not confirmed, but I don’t see why they wouldn’t put him in the lineup in the final two games of this write-off season. He’s been having a career year in the AHL this season with two goals, 12 assists, and a +13 rating in 49 games with the Condors.

We all know the Oilers need to strengthen their prospect pool offensively but are you guys happy with a guy like Keegan Lowe being used as the emergency type of defensive player for the Oilers? We haven’t actually watched him play in an Oilers jersey yet, but I look forward to seeing him suit up tomorrow night against Vegas.
