Friday Fights: Saturday was alright for fighting, rest of the week sucked

Hello out there, I’m on the air, it’s Hockey Fights today. This is a weekly feature where we will take a look back at the best tilts of the week that was, a fond look back at the fights that were, and a strong finger wag at the worst fight of the week.

This season can’t end soon enough. With 20 game remaining in the year (as of Friday morning), the season where fighting took a huge dive is almost over. Out with a fizzle it goes, as the last full of Friday fights has only eight fights to choose from. Five of those, coming from three different games last Saturday night. The season is on pace to finish just over 100 fights less than last season.

This week we have all top three fights from one night, a bad fight from the same night and a throw back to peak Barnaby.

Onto the top tilts.

No. 3:

Mack Weegar vs Noel Acciari

Man does Jack Edwards ever not know how to call a fight evenly. Two middleweights swinging for the fences.

No. 2:

Micheal Haley vs Adam McQuaid

This one would have been the top fight but man just Edwards ever ruin a call.

No. 1:

Milan Lucic vs Tanner Glass

The Battle of Alberta is back? Could it be?

Classic Fight of the Week:

Matt Barnaby vs Craig Berube

Finger Wag of the Week:

This is where we normally feature the one fight that probably deserved two minutes for occurring, rather than a major. Or a player that needs to be put on blast

Drake Caggiula vs Mark Jankowski

The comments section on hockeyfights called out Drake here, but I can’t say I agree. It’s hardly his fault that Jankowski took some liberties with the little guy. But that said, any time a fight ends faster than it began, it earns a finger wag.
