Welcome, friends, to a brand new episode of Inside the Nation. With the Oilers making moves over the weekend, including the return of Sam Gagner for a second tour of duty, there was plenty to talk and Dusty Nielson is here to cover it all.
This week, Dusty is on the road in Red Deer but the man is such a professional that he decided to bring his computer with him so that we can all talk all things Oilers. To start off the episode, Dusty looks at Brandon Manning clearing waivers and discusses whether or not Keith Gretzky will be able to move him, or if the Oilers will be stuck with that contract until it’s over. Next up, he looks at Andrej Sekera’s return and what that means to the blue line. Given the amount of time he’s missed, you know there will be some rust in his game but it’s clear that the Oilers could desperately use his ability to move the puck. From there, Nielson looks at the return of Sam Gagner and breaks down why the Oilers won the deal that brought him back to town. Lastly, it’s game day and that means there are line combinations to go over and Dusty does exactly that as he breaks down the last trios put together by Ken Hitchcock.
