With Dusty Nielson flexing his announcing muscles down in Red Deer, we’re hitting you up with a Friday edition of Inside the Nation to try and make sense of all things Edmonton Oilers.
To start off today’s episode, Dusty jumps right into things with a look at the Connor McDavid hearing and whether or not his hit on Nick Leddy deserves a suspension or not? Dusty thinks it’s worth a fine, but who knows what the Department of Player Safety thinks. Next up, he looks at the shenanigans surrounding Jesse Puljujarvi and the news that came out this morning that he may need surgery to repair an injury that we didn’t even know about until this week. Needless to say, everything surrounding this situation is bizarre and doesn’t pass the smell test. On a more positive note, Sam Gagner scored his first goal since returning to Edmonton last night and what that means to the Oilers. Lastly, Dusty previews the trade deadline that is coming up on Monday and works through what the Oilers might do moving forward. Does Alex Chiasson get moved? Where to? Ignoring the rental market, who could the Oilers look at that can help now and in the future?
