Leon Draisaitl is the first Edmonton Oilers player to score 50 goals in a season since Jari Kurri (54) and Wayne Gretzky (62) did it in 1987. Craig Simpson scored 56 in 1988, but he scored 13 with Pittsburgh and 43 with the Oilers.

Alright, now let’s get Rieder one!
There is zero reason to celebrate now.
Have to agree with you on that … to say the least, hey …
Typical Lamers fan… his team by the lowly Ducks and …Oilers… so to be beaten out by the Ava and another first round exit from the playoffs as usual
“The only teams he didn’t score against were Philadelphia, Ottawa and St.Louis.”
Incredible.
How bittersweet. 50 goals is an epic achievement and it’s amazing that, combined with McDavid (and Nuge’s) stellar year, we didn’t even come close to making the playoffs.
Bad goaltending, defence, and no scoring beyond those three players will do that.
Not even making the 80 point mark is deplorable for a team with seven recent top seven picks including four first overalls …
Yikes! Did you like ur own comment again? LOL lame
Alsonso ois just upset that his Lamers are headed for that first round playoff exit… beaten by the ducks…. then the Oilers… now the AVS who beat up on them all season
This current oilers team has only 2 first overall picks
Icing on the cake, not only scoring against Calgary for the 50th but getting against Mike Smith. My least favorite goalie in the league. Too bad this season was a waste with such good seasons from the 3 centres. Imagine how good they could be with quality wingers!
Congrats Drai…what an accomplishment. Next catch Ovi!!!! Woohoo!!!!!!!!!
Looks bad for mcdavid- something broken?
Alex, do you think that McD’s injury screams karma for wishing injury on any & all Flames … WhatSayYou … ?
Jason please do us a favor and get rid of this idgit.
You endorse wishing injury on any player regardless of the color of jersey, do you … ?
Nah you’re just an Idjit
well put!
Another hapless Oiler season was the perfect recipe for hapless Oil fans like yourself … very happy for you, lolo … enjoy the playoffs, yes … 🙂
Drinky, drinky trollboy
Did you come up with that name after being violated by your pogo stick as a youngster … ? 🙂
Liking your comments makes you cool lol
That’s you doing the liking, yes … 🙂
Idiot. Not idjit
Alfonso… go bait somewhere else … you do nothing but troll here under multiple accounts…loser
Imagine having so little going on in your life that you post on a website of a team you don’t like. What a terrible life.
That’s got to be a broken stick. Better to happen now that the start of the season.
Congrats to Drai.
Hitch has got a lot to do with his success.
Something to consider when deciding if he should be back or not next year.
Draisaitl should have an *asterisk beside his fifty goal total for the simple fact that McD was in on 62% of his goals, hey …
Idjit
What about Kurri?
I think it could be said for Lindholm Monahan and Tkachuk too.
Having a linemate is not a crime, smart guy.
50 goals…something old Johnny Whiner will never ever achieve…hey
Should have an *asterisk for not having any empty net goals.
If Draisaitl can score 1 more, he ties with Ovechkin and wins the Rocket Richard!!
Congratulations to Leon Draisaitl, an absolute unit and speciman. A descendant of Prussian nobility and his well regimented training and physical prowess is amazing.
Great player and favorite Oiler. The Great German
Lameass speaks
Back when the McClavicle injury occurred … I stated then that wouldn’t be the last time we saw McDs speed play such a significant factor in a major injury … well, it happened again, hey …
Taylor Hall used to play that kamikaze style his first few seasons & was injured many times over as a result & ended up missing all kinds of time … McD will have to tone it down or risk this happening over & over again …
Idjit
Leon. Congrats. Oilers can beat the best in the west. Hard to be a fan on this roller coaster
Do you still ride a pogo stick … or no … ?
Does ur mom think ur kewl or does she think you’re a douche too
ASlfonso… you better go inflate your girlfriend… she sprung a leak and is making that farting sound like someone let the air out of the balloon
Oh look two losers from Lamers Natiojn here to make fun of McDavid’s injury, imagine that… well no class flames fans usually troll here, wow you guys sure lash out when you know that first round exit is coming soo by the AV’s who beat the flames all season long
Again, Congratulations to Leon “the Panzer” Draisaitl.
Let’s go Jets???
Avsa … and I will go from there… we get to see Johnny whiner cry to the ref ever time he gets a tap or non call, its always funny watching him whine pout and cry to get a penalty and I wont even bring up all his diving
And go Avs, I never thought I’d ever say that
Wtf is Kassian doing there after mcdavid got injured he should of beat the f*** out of giordano. Man what a joke. I know it’s the last game and gio prob didn’t mean to and all but come on he deserved to get beat for that one.
One bright spot in an otherwise dismal season
Four Canadian teams not in the playoffs, all have owners who stick their nose into hockey ops.
I think Katz does anything else but care about Hockey Ops…
So happy for Leon!
Go Avs go!
Congrats to Leon … nice season.Keep it up lad.
So glad to see Draisaitl score 50. Even if he had not, this season would have been a great success for Leon. I look back on this season and see how it stacks up. All those saying that Draisaitl benefits greatly from playing with McDavid, I have a few facts to deal with:
-only the 2008-2009 season did both Crosby and Malkin have 100+ points. Now, both are amazing players, but Malkin had more points than Crosby that season, so it could be argued that Crosby benefited more playing with Malkin than vice versa. I don’t think we are saying that Malkin is a better player than Crosby and that Crosby cannot centre his own line, are we?
I should point out that neither Malkin nor Crosby hit 40 goals playing that season, whereas Draisaitl has hit 50 this season.
If you are a real Oilers fan, you should be thanking your lucky stars that we have both Connor and Leon.
I actually thank MacTavish for Leon
