The days leading up to the regular season, for me, are always much more interesting than anything that happens during the preseason. Preseason results often lead to overreactions from both fan bases and front offices and today was the day we got to see which front offices decided to overreact.

Will Dave Tippett start the season with his three most skilled players on separate lines? At practice today it looked that way. It is possible he starts the season that way, but the only way he keeps Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins on separate lines is if the wingers produce.

Oilers Place Gagner and Manning on Waivers, Lagesson assigned to Condors

The Edmonton Oilers continue to trim their pre-season roster as the start of the regular season nears. Today, they placed two veteran players on waivers with the purpose of sending them down to the Bakersfield Condors of the AHL, Sam Gagner and Brandon Manning, along with William Lagesson being assigned directly to the Condors.
