After walking out of Ottawa with all four points, the Oilers wrap up their road trip with a stop at the Bell Centre to take on the Montreal Canadiens. The Oilers are coming into this game with five wins in their last six games, however, four of those wins have come against the measly Senators. This game tonight is a good chance for the Oilers to prove that their recent wins are a product of their strong play, not just a weak opponent.
The Oilers were swept by the Canadiens earlier this season in a two-game set at Rogers Place, so they’ll be looking for their first win of the year against the Habs tonight as well. One big benefit for Edmonton in this one is that the Canadiens played last night against the Toronto Maple Leafs, so the Oilers should be the more rested team. That also means that they won’t have to face Carey Price, although it is worth noting that the Habs backup, Jake Allen, is having a tremendous year.
