Oilers Prospect Update: Show me the Marody

This week’s prospect update is full of good news stories for the Oilers property around the world, but specifically in sunny California. That’s where the Condors, after starting their season with five straight losses, have turned around and rattled off five straight wins. Thanks in large part to our poster boy, Cooper Marody, who was actually just named the AHL star of the week:

Edmonton Oilers prospect Cooper Marody named AHL Player of the Week

The Condors also have received some stellar goaltending as of late from Stuart Skinner, who has only surrendered five total goals in those five straight wins.

Credit to reader Evilas who asked last week: “So the biggest remaining mystery IMO continues to be is, what the hell is going on with Ostap Safin? This team does not have many prospects, so it is crazy to me that there is no information. Why is he apparently on the Condors roster, but all kinds of other players are getting opportunities, while he and his NHL draft pedigree perpetually sits on the sidelines.”

Ostap must be an avid reader of the nation because he kicked it into gear and played his first games as a Condor this week.

Over in Europe, 2019 2nd round pick (38th overall) Raphael Lavoie put together five points in a three game span. While in the NCAA, the regular season wrapped up and Dylan Holloway’s Wisconsin Badgers won their first Big Ten title since the year 2000.

Side note for those of you who are reading the update for the first time.
While it’s a prospect update, not all players are specifically prospects in the traditional sense of the word. Some are merely players of which we own the rights to, and some are older players who I think people would like to follow along with.
Updates are current as to the time of publish (if they’re playing in a game when it’s published, I won’t include that)

M.O.B.I.L.I.Z.E x OILERSNATION

“When Oilersnation reached out to me on our initial connection it reminded me of what the¬†treaties are supposed to represent. A collective moving forward¬†in a good way.
From an indigenous perspective this has been told to me to be like the boat and canoe floating down the same river, together but not in conflict. This design is taking my indigenous¬†artistic practice¬†and blending it with the ON logo. As indigenous people much of our culture is based on the concept of the circle and the balance that it represents (depicted within the ON logo). The syllabic art within the hand is inspired by Cree traditional tattoos and in syllabics is the name of this beautiful territory as my nation (Nehiyaw/Cree) would write it “Amiskwaciw√Ęskahikan”. Syllabic form is the proper way for writing¬†our language.
Amiskwaciw√Ęskahikan translates to “beaver mountain house” and the territory we all live on was a common meeting place of many indigneous nations”. – Dusty
